Exploring our Archive and Reference Library

The Archive & Reference Library was set up to record the fascinating story of the development of the new city of Milton Keynes. Many important documents have been preserved here that would have been lost - books, maps, reports, posters, plans and periodicals.

The Future

We are working together with partners from The Milton Keynes Collection to improve the accessibility of our collections. There is now a programme in place to restore, catalogue, digitise and make accessible the wealth of important material that we hold. This will improve the experience of users of our archive. The local community will have improved access to their heritage. We have a great deal of interest from students and planners from abroad - these developments will open up the archive to people worldwide and help them to discover how the successful new town of Milton Keynes was planned and implemented.

Please get in touch if you would like more information on our ongoing digitisation and online activities.
