Jan Lloyd

Jan Lloyd is from Huddersfield, Yorkshire. She attended Royds Hall Grammar School and Music Department, College of Technology there before moving to Trent Park Training College, Barnet. After this she taught in London for 12 years then moved to Tunbridge Wells, Kent as Deputy Head Teacher of a newly opened special school. Jan then moved to Pebble Brook Day and Residential School for pupils with Special and Complex Needs, Aylesbury in 1984 as Head Teacher. Retired in 2003. Jan settled to MK in the late eighties and served as Labour Councillor on MK Council for 16 years. Was Mayor of MK 2008/9. She is the Older Persons’ Champion for MK and, as such, Chairs the Older Persons’ Partnership Board and the Older Persons’ Forum. She has been/still is involved in MK City Orchestra, MK Music Hub, MK Theatre and Gallery, MKCEP, AHA, CDC, MK College and Water Hall Primary School. Jan sings with the OU Choir, the Sherwood Singers and plays French Horn with the Giocoso Band. She is Secretary of the Max Wall Society. Jan is widowed with a daughter, son-in-law and two grandchidren.
