Right from the beginning of the project I have been concerned that there has been no involvement from Historic England. It is a shame that they did not send a representative to our meetings.

I know from life in local authority planning that if you don’t have the support of English Heritage/Historic England in dealing with a planning application, you have little hope of convincing a reluctant property owner to follow a conservation-based course of action.

I would be interested to hear other people’s opinions and suggestions as to how we can involve them.

    Hi Martin

Apologies for delay in reply! Historic England have been involved, to a degree. They are certainly aware of the project, and you may remember that Elain Harwood attended the Harlow event, and they are sent information about the network.
