This collection of images by Maurice Kitchener show cars whose bodies were made by Salmons & Sons, builders of high quality bodyworks for motorised vehicles based in Newport Pagnell. The cars were photographed either in the grounds of George Salmons’ home or outside their Newport Pagnell factory. The famed “Tickford” bodies produced by Salmons became highly sought after, with the company having showrooms in London, and the business was renamed Tickford Ltd after the retirement of the last Salmons in charge. In 1955 Tickford was bought by the owner of Aston Martin and Lagonda, who moved Aston Martin to the Newport Pagnell site.
If you can provide any further information about any of the cars in this collection then do please
